Are our invoices and purchase orders worth anything to AI companies?

Data Licensing Report may earn a referral fee when a business that applies through this site completes a deal with a participating provider. Telegraph Lab is a commercially affiliated provider: the owner of Data Licensing Report is paid commission on some Telegraph Lab deals, and does not own Telegraph Lab. Providers are listed alphabetically and described from their own public materials using the same fields.

Why trust us

Linked invoices, bills and purchase orders can interest AI buyers. As of October 2026, 13 tracked providers name those records or accounting and procurement systems that hold them. Connections to estimates, approvals and payments help describe what you have.

Why would an AI company want our invoices and POs?

The source documents behind the books, and what happened to each one. Polyshares’ QuickBooks guide (checked September 2026) describes attached receipts and bills alongside the ledger entries made from them. It says real transaction categorization helps models read and classify financial documents.

Providers also name the exceptions. Miro Advisory’s finance card names “invoice workflows, exceptions” among the records it places, and Appen lists “Procurement” and “ERP & finance” among its typical sources and “Approval and exception chains” among the decision signals it extracts (both as of October 2026). Scrimdata’s anonymization example follows one dispute through a Slack thread, the customer’s email and the CRM’s open balance, over an invoice where “the PO number does not match”.

Which invoices and orders are worth more?

The ones whose links survive in the system that made them:

  • Estimate to invoice. In QuickBooks Online, converting an estimate “links the two transactions” (Intuit, updated August 3, 2026).
  • Purchase order to bill. In QuickBooks Online Plus and Advanced, adding received items from a purchase order to a bill connects the documents (Intuit, updated July 16, 2026). Partially received orders can link to several transactions; the order closes automatically once all quantities have been added.
  • The document beside its entry. A scanned bill or receipt attached to the transaction it became, as in the Polyshares guide above.
  • Disputes and credits with their reasons. A credit memo kept with the email that explains it; the QuickBooks Online page works through one.

A folder of invoice PDFs saved from email has the documents without those links.

Which buyers say they want invoices, orders or quotes?

Thirteen meet the record-or-system test, as of October 2026. A provider qualifies when its own pages name invoices, bills, purchase orders, orders, quotes, estimates, receipts or payables, or an accounting, ERP or procurement system. Construction bids alone do not qualify. Telegraph Lab (affiliated with Data Licensing Report) is checked by the same rule. Four are introducers.

Provider What it is Records it names Systems it names
Appen Licenses directly None by name “ERP & finance” and “Procurement” among typical sources (source)
Avelence Introducer; does not buy data “Invoices, orders, and reconciliation history” QuickBooks, NetSuite, Shopify
Corpus Licenses directly None by name NetSuite, in a manufacturer’s deal example (source)
Handshake AI Licenses directly None by name QuickBooks, NetSuite and ServiceTitan among example sources (source)
License My Data Introducer “finance and operations” records QuickBooks, Stripe, NetSuite, SAP (source)
Mercor Licenses directly Invoices under logistics; order records under retail (source) No accounting system
Miro Advisory Introducer; does not buy data Invoice workflows and exceptions QuickBooks, NetSuite, Xero, SAP, “billing and FP&A platforms” (source)
Nyne Licenses directly “invoices, estimates, AP and AR” QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite
Polyshares Licenses directly “Ledgers, invoices, bills and inventory”; ecommerce orders (source) QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, SAP and others
Scale AI Licenses directly None by name SAP, under “CRM, HR, ERP, and support records” (source)
Sell My Business Data Introducer Orders, invoices and supplier information (source) QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP
Telegraph Lab (affiliated with this site) Licenses directly “Rate quotes” in a freight broker’s deal card; “ERP records”; how orders move (source) SAP, Oracle, Shopify
Troveo Licensing agent Ledgers, invoices and contracts (source) QuickBooks, Stripe, NetSuite, Pigment, Shopify

FileYield names construction bids and POS records, which does not establish interest in invoices or purchase orders. Four other providers fall outside the table: micro1 lists reconciliations and approvals as finance work but names no invoices or software (micro1); Replay names “Financial Records” and nothing narrower; Scrimdata shows an invoice only inside the anonymization example above; and LH2 AI Labs’ finance and legal vertical names filings and contracts (LH2). Illustrations alone do not count. The buyers directory explains payment models.

Where do our invoices and POs live, and how do they come out?

In the accounting system first, with copies and source documents in other tools (as of October 2026):

Where What it holds How it exports
Accounting software or ERP Invoices, bills, estimates, purchase orders, payments, attachments In QuickBooks Online, estimates, purchase orders and attachments export separately (steps). Xero exports invoices as CSV; on August 27, 2025 its community manager said it has no plans for “a download of multiple invoices at a time as separate PDF documents”
Bill-pay and AP tools Vendor bills, approvals, payments For Universal CSV and QuickBooks Desktop customers, Ramp exports approved bills separately from bill payments (Ramp)
Expense and receipt apps Receipts and card charges Expensify’s “Basic export” CSV holds date, amount, merchant, category and “receipt URL”; a report PDF includes the attached receipts (Expensify)
Field-service software Estimates and invoices per job Invoice reports as CSV (ServiceTitan)
Email Invoices sent and bills received as attachments A mailbox export (email); the sample tool counts a mailbox’s attachments by type

Check each export for the source documents themselves. An Expensify CSV points to each receipt rather than holding it, and the sample tool turns any link in a sample row into https://[URL]. IRS keeping periods for the books and their supporting documents are on the accounting records page.

Our customers’ and vendors’ names are on every invoice. Can they come out?

Yes, from the copy that leaves, if the scope says so. In the sample tool, columns headed customer, client, bill to or ship to become Customer 01, columns headed vendor, supplier or payee become Company 01, and a QuickBooks Name column is treated as customers. A name typed into a description field is caught only by the optional free-text detection or by your own reading, and your main customers can be entered as your own terms so they are replaced wherever they appear.

Some providers describe the same kind of substitution. Scrimdata says “Every identifier is substituted: people, companies, email addresses, invoice numbers, amounts, and dates”, with the same customer given the same substitute everywhere.

Homeowners and sole proprietors are individuals; distinguish their personal identifiers from company names (is it legal?).

Our prices are on every invoice. Could a competitor learn them?

Sales invoices reveal customer charges and vendor bills reveal supplier costs, even with names replaced. The license sets who receives the copy and permitted uses. Three ways to handle prices:

  • Leave them out. Exclude the customers, product lines or years whose prices matter most (leaving out records).
  • Replace the amounts. Switch amounts off in the sample tool and each one becomes [AMOUNT]; Scrimdata changes amounts too. Ask a buyer whether it will take changed amounts, since prices are part of what it is judging.
  • Limit the recipients. The license can name who may receive the records; what “anonymized” means quotes what providers say about permitted uses.

A supplier’s quote may carry confidentiality terms (contracts); the CRM page covers pricing as a trade secret.

What about bank details and card numbers on invoices and receipts?

Both turn up, and the rules differ:

What could our invoices and purchase orders be worth?

The cited provider pages do not establish a price for your invoices or purchase orders alone. Whole-company ranges are on How much is my company’s data worth?. When a buyer asks, count records as Polyshares does: “Invoices, bills, receipts, payments and journal entries each count once”, with customer, vendor and product lists left out of the number. Add the years in your current system, the share of entries with an attachment, and how many invoices and bills link to an estimate or purchase order.
