One card, a 'Tech-Enabled Construction Company' (USA, 50–79 employees, 6 years, 13 systems), shows ServiceTitan, Google Workspace and Slack logos; another, a 'Building Products Manufacturer' (Manufacturing & Industrial, 500–999 employees), shows Microsoft Teams, OneDrive and Dynamics 365.[7] as of Its assessment's business-type options include IT/MSP, healthcare/clinics/RCM, insurance/claims, financial services/fintech, legal/professional services, BPO/contact center, logistics/field service/supply chain, manufacturing/industrial, retail/e-commerce, marketing/media/creative agency, software/SaaS, real estate/property and something else.[1] as of |
| Payment model | Revenue share: Troveo says the owner shares in the revenue on every sale of its data, the first and each later one. The percentage is not published.[2] as of Troveo says owners pay no fees or setup costs and that it takes no deductions from payouts. Its own share of each sale is not stated.[2] as of For its video program, Troveo's help center says there is no fixed payout schedule, licensors are paid after the AI client pays, and delivery to payout can take up to 4–5 months.[8, 9] as of |
| Published ranges | Troveo says typical full-company deals start at six figures. It does not say whether that is the buyer's price or the owner's share.[2] as of An example on its page totals $850,000 from four sales ($200,000, $250,000, $200,000 and $200,000), labelled illustrative, with 'actual terms scoped per partnership'.[2] as of Its assessment page shows a sample result of $850K–$925K in estimated first-year net earnings from 4+ licensing deals, marked illustrative.[1] as of |
| Process | Four steps, as Troveo describes them: scope what is in or out, agree standard terms covering license and earnings, package (anonymize and document in a manifest), then get paid.[2] as of No system access or software: the company runs the exports with Troveo's guidance (a short scoping call and a few hours, its FAQ says). Troveo handles every buyer conversation.[2] as of Troveo says ownership never transfers and that exclusivity is time-limited, with exit terms in the agreement. A July 2026 guide says 95% of its licensors signed exclusively.[2, 10] as of |
| Data handling | Troveo says names, contact details, credentials and client identities are removed under one documented standard before use. The standard itself is not published.[2] as of Buyers evaluate the data anonymously and are introduced to the company confidentially only after an agreement is signed. They receive anonymized data with a manifest of what is included.[2] as of |
| Geography | No country eligibility rule is published for business data. The assessment asks which languages the company's data uses, not where the company is based.[1] as of Troveo says its overall library spans 150+ countries and 60+ languages, mostly video and audio.[5] as of |
| How to apply | An online assessment of 10 questions returns a dollar estimate; name, company and work email are required to see it.[1] as of The results page offers a 15-minute call, and the contact page has an 'I want to license my data' route.[1, 11] as of |

Is Troveo legit?
| Founded | The Hollywood Reporter reported Troveo's launch, with seed funding, on November 1, 2024. The New York Post (March 2025) described it as launched a year earlier.[12, 13] as of |
|---|---|

| Headquarters | Its privacy policy lists Troveo AI, Inc. at an Austin, Texas address. Its April 2026 press release carries a San Francisco dateline.[15, 14] as of |
| Backing | A $4.5 million seed round led by Seven Seven Six (Alexis Ohanian), with angel investors including Zynga founder Mark Pincus, reported in November 2024.[12] as of |
| Public track record | Troveo's April 2026 release says it has paid more than $20 million to content owners; an August 2026 guide says over 7,000 rights holders. Its content-owner page shows '$50M+ paid to creators globally'.[14, 4, 3] as of Neither total is split by category. Troveo launched in 2024 licensing creators' video; in April 2026 it added enterprise workflow data ('agentic trajectories') as one of five new categories.[14, 12] as of Its homepage shows '350+ Company Datasets'; its business-data page claims 40+ active buyers, unnamed, and an average of 4 sales per dataset, with no method given.[5, 2] as of |
Does Troveo buy my data, or license it for me?
It licenses it for you. Its assessment page says Troveo “licenses data on behalf of the companies that own it,” and its FAQ says ownership “never transfers.” Your terms are set in your agreement with Troveo, which licenses the data to AI labs and startups on your behalf and, its program page says, handles “every buyer conversation.” Its FAQ says buyers evaluate your data anonymously and are introduced to your company only after an agreement is signed.
So you do not negotiate with buyers yourself, and what reaches you is set by your agreement with Troveo. Troveo says it licenses “on terms you approve”; ask whether that means approving each buyer and each use, or approving one agreement at the start.
How does Troveo’s revenue share work?
Troveo’s FAQ says you “share in the revenue on every sale — the first and every one after,” with terms set out in your agreement. It also says you pay “no fees, no setup costs, no deductions from your payouts.” Troveo does not publish the percentage, as of October 2026, so the split is the first number to get in writing.
Two published figures shape expectations, and neither is an offer:
- The FAQ says typical full-company deals “start at six figures.” It does not say whether that is what the buyer pays Troveo or what you receive.
- An illustrative example reaches $850,000 through four sales to four buyers, and the same page claims an average of four sales per dataset, with no method given.
Under revenue share, your total depends on your percentage and on how many times Troveo sells your records. Upfront vs revenue share sets that against a fixed payment.
When does Troveo pay?
Troveo publishes no payment timing for business data, as of October 2026. Its program page promises “a fast first sale, then more to come” without defining fast.
The timing Troveo does publish comes from help-center articles for its video program. They say there is “no fixed payout schedule,” that licensors are paid after Troveo invoices the AI client and receives its payment, and that “it is not uncommon for deals to take up to 4-5 months from delivery to payout.” Troveo does not say the same flow applies to company data. If it does, your first payment would follow the first buyer’s payment, not your signature.
What does exclusivity with Troveo involve?
Troveo’s FAQ describes business-data exclusivity as “time-limited and it has to be earned,” with “clear exit terms” in the agreement, and says it lets Troveo invest in your data and build buyer relationships. A July 2026 Troveo guide says “95 percent of licensors have signed exclusively,” a figure for all its licensors, not only companies licensing business data.
The length, the scope and the exit terms are not published, as of October 2026. If exclusivity covers all licensing of your records, your income for that period comes only from sales Troveo makes. Exclusivity also decides whether you can accept an upfront offer for the same records from someone else while it runs.
How much of Troveo’s track record is in company data?
Most of it predates the business-data line. Troveo launched in 2024 as a way for creators to license video to AI companies, The Hollywood Reporter reported. In April 2026 Troveo added enterprise workflow data, which it calls “agentic trajectories,” as one of five new categories.
Troveo’s payout totals are not split by category, and its own pages give two different totals, as of October 4, 2026. Its April 2026 release says it has paid out more than $20 million to content owners, and an August 2026 guide says more than $20 million to over 7,000 rights holders. Its content-owner page shows “$50M+ paid to creators globally.” Neither figure says how much went to companies licensing business records. Its homepage shows “350+ Company Datasets.”
What happens to our exports?
Troveo says it needs no access to your systems: “No OAuth into your systems. No platform to install.” Your team runs the exports with its guidance, which the FAQ puts at “a short scoping call and a few hours on exports.” Troveo then removes “names, contact details, credentials, and client identities” under “one documented standard,” and buyers receive anonymized data with a manifest.
As described, anonymization happens on Troveo’s side after your team exports. Troveo does not publish the standard, where raw exports are stored, or when they are deleted, as of October 2026. The scoping step is where you decide what goes in; a data inventory lets you make those choices before the first export rather than during it.
Can a company that is closing use Troveo?
Yes, according to a September 2026 Troveo guide for startups that are shutting down. Troveo says it can “scope the archive, remove the personal details, package it, and license it to buyers,” that the work takes “weeks, not days, and the rights work sets the pace,” and that licensing should be set up before the entity dissolves.
Revenue share makes that timing matter more than it would with a one-time payment, because later sales pay out after the company is gone. The guide does not say how payments are made once the entity no longer exists.
What should I ask Troveo before signing?
- What percentage of each sale do we receive, and is “six figures” the buyer’s price or our share?
- What triggers each payment, and how long after a buyer pays do we receive ours?
- How long does exclusivity last, what does it cover, what must Troveo achieve to keep it, and how do we exit?
- Do we approve each buyer and each permitted use, or does the agreement leave that to Troveo?
- Who at Troveo handles our raw exports, where are they stored, and when are they deleted?
- How many business datasets have sold more than once, and which payout total, $20M+ or $50M+, is current?
- If we close the company, where do later payments go?
